When Shackleton was preparing for his 1907 expedition to Antarctica, he ordered twenty five cases of Highland malt whisky. 100 years later conservators from the Antarctic Heritage Trust discovered five frozen crates beneath Shackleton’s camp at Cape Royds revealing the century old “Mackinlay’s Rare Old Highland Whisky”.
